Local Business Owner,

My name is Mark Warren and I am an Assistant Chief with the Pedernales Fire Department. We provide fire, rescue, and EMS first response for Travis County Emergency Services District #8 which includes your business.

On February 1, 2005 the Travis County Commissioners court voted to adopt the International Fire Code which regulates the commercial establishments and public buildings in the unincorporated areas of Travis County.

It is the responsibility of the Pedernales Fire Department to start inspecting the commercial establishments and public buildings in our response area.  Pedernales Fire Department will begin the fire inspection program within the next few months.

The purposes of these fire inspections are to ensure a safe work environment for you and your employees as well as for your customers. These fire inspections are not meant to be punitive; instead I would like to work with you to make sure that your establishment meets the requirements of the fire code. Currently, the Pedernales Fire Department does not charge a fee to conduct a fire inspection.

I will be in contact with the owner or manager of your business so that we can schedule a convenient time to conduct a fire inspection.

Respectfully,

Mark Warren

Assistant Chief

Pedernales Fire Department
